Sweet Cupcakes

Hi All, my post today is of a 3D cupcake I made as a swap for convention.  It was also a project we made at this months stamp club.  It is a handy little cupcake I designed for last years convention, this year I made a couple of little changes to the look of the top of the cupcake and of course new colours and DSP.  I'll share last years cupcake with you in another post.  But here is the 2012 version...

This sweet little cupcake is just the perfect size to hold a little container of Dazzling Diamonds or Embossing Powder, such a cute little gift.  Here's a peak of how it looks with the lid open.

  1. To make this cupcake I have used the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch and folded up the scallops to form the base.
  2. I have then adhered a 1cm x 18.8cm strip of card to the inside of the scallops.
  3. I have then adhered a strip of card 3.2cm x 18.8cm on the outside of the scallops.  The two strips help provide you with a nice firm base and reinforcement for the sides of your box.
  4. Ive crimped a piece of Twitterpated DSP and adhered to the outside.
  5. The flower top is made using 9 x 2 3/8" Scallop Circles - 3 in Whisper White, 3 in Pool Party and 3 in Island Indigo.  Ive daubed the Whisper White with Pool Party Ink and daubed the Pool Party & Island Indigo with Island Indigo ink.
  6. Pierce a hole through the centre of each Scallop Circle
  7. Spritz with Shimmer Spritz or Water and scrunch and then unscrunch each Scallop Circle.
  8. Push a brad through the centre Whisper White on first then Pool Party and lastly Island Indigo.
  9. Scrunch up each Scallop Circle individually (make sure the first one is quite small). Then press out the scallops to look like a flower.
  10. Fold a 7cm x 2.4 cm rectangle in half this is the hinge for the lid and adhere between the middle of two Scallop Circles.
  11. Lastly adhere your flower to the top.

Mocha Grunge Rock

Hiya Everyone, hasn't the weather been gorgeous lately.  So much sunshine it's very nice to see especially when it's still a bit chilly out.  Definitely no cause to complain about the weather here lately.  During the week has been overcast and miserable and the weekends glorious... looks like this week is the turnabout a glorious week and they are predicting rain and chilly weather for the weekend.  A good excuse to stay in and cook, stamp or while away the time with a bit of company or a good book.

Today's card was one I made a bit ago, we made this card for Stamp Club last month and it was also one of my swaps for convention.  Every convention I try to make at least one masculine inspired card.  This year my Mocha Morning/Grunge Rock combination was the one.

I so love our DSP and Specialty DSP in the current catalogues they make projects look so great and make colour co-ordination so easy.  Sorry that the photo is a bit dark I couldn't seem to get the angle right no matter how I tried it... woopsie.  You can see what looks like little smudges on the Very Vanilla panel behind the guitar it's actually Gold Glow Smooch Spritz.

Project Recipe:
Stamps: Grunge Rock
Ink:  Soft Suede
CardCrumb Cake, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Mocha Morning Specialty DSP
Punches: Pinking Hearts Border Punch, 1 ¼” Circle Punch
Accessories: Gold Glow Smooch Spritz, Crumb Cake Taffeta, Dimensionals, Paper Snips, Adhesive

Enjoy the rest of the week and especially the weekend, make the most of the sunshine while you can.

Beautiful Beau Chateau

Hi All

The card I'm posting today is one we made at the mystery night a little while ago.  I also used it as one of my swaps at convention.  I just loved the simplicity of the layout and the sweet punch art flowers.  All pulled together with the gorgeous Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper.  This card even strikes me as a little bit vintage...

I've got the fire going and it's nice and toasty, I'm hoping that the weather sets in and I'll be holed up in the house all weekend.... oh what to do.... chores, cooking, no way I'm thinking it's time to stamp.  Hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Project Recipe:
Stamps: Loving Thoughts ( it does say thoughts of you... but my photo's a bit dark sorry)
Ink:  Soft Suede
Card: Soft Suede, Pink Pirhouette, Beau Chateau DSP
Punches: 1 3/4” Square, Doily Triple Layer, Boho Blossoms
Accessories: Piercing Tool, Matt Pack, Metallic Brads, Silver Brads, Frost White Shimmer Spritz (Shimmer Paint & Isocol), Snail Adhesive
