Beach Day

Hello Everyone
How I wish it was a beach day today, maybe I'll drive to the lookout at lunch today so I can at least see the water.  Definitely feeling in need of a beachy break maybe the card below can help take me there in my mind.

I wanted this chair from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits as soon as I saw it.  It immediately reminded me of camping with my family and unfolding the chairs and sitting around the campfire down at Point Anne a very long time ago.  So of course I had to have it and the co-ordinating stamp set, I've learned that when they come as a Bundle it's just easier to get the set.  The few times I didn't I've bought the companion product a month or so later...might as well not fight it.

I thought it was time to dig out the Work of Art Stamp Set and use those lovely brush strokes to create a background.  I paired it with the Sentiment from Happy Birthday Gorgeous so that the inside of the card can have a custom greeting for Birthday, Fathers Day, Graduation, Bon Voyage, Retirement.  I really love this greeting and only you and the person you give it to can guess the true greeting inside.

Stamp Set: Work of Art, Happy Birthday Gorgeous
Ink: Sahara Sand, Marina Mist, Dapper Denim
Card: Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Wood Textures Paper Stack
Big Shot: Seasonal Layers Thinlits

Happy Stamping, have a bea-utiful day

Live with Zest

Hi All
It's a gorgeous sunny day here, I hope wherever you are you're enjoying some sunshine too.  I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments in the Lemon Zest Stamp Set.  This has been brought home to me this year with some health issues with my parents and also myself.  We have to live life to the fullest despite the obstacles that come our way.  So "Live it with Zest" everyone!!!   Share a smile with a stranger or try to find joy in the simple things you do.

Well anyway enough of the deep and meaningful let's get the the fun stamping stuff.  In case you hadn't noticed Embossing Paste is very on trend at the moment.  Stampin' Up! released Embossing Paste and assorted tools including the Pattern Party Decorative Masks and Palette Knives in the Annual Catalogue and let me just say it's so much fun to play with.

Now normally I would have thought it would be a messy process but it's not really.  All you have to remember is the Embossing Paste dries quickly so clean your masks and tools immediately after each use.  You can colour the paste as you can see on the card.  You simply put a bit of paste on your silicon matt add 2-3 drops of reinker and mix it in with a palette knife then apply over your mask or as desired.

Stamp Set: Lemon Zest
Inks: Lemon Lime Twist, Garden Green
Card: Lemon Lime Twist, Garden Green, Whisper White

Cherry Blossom Birthday

Hiya All,
I am really enjoying spring at the moment, the flowers blooming and the increase in sunshine.  You've just got to love that right.  Here's my card as a quick nod to spring, Cherry Blossom's in Bloom using the gorgeous Sweet Sugarplum - I really love this colour it's such a nice shade between pink and purple.

First off I stamped the greeting in the centre of the Whisper White Layer and then cut out using the Circle from the Stitched Shape Framelits.  Then I used the outside that you'd normally discard or use as a mask.  I stamped the branches first in Soft Suede and lined up the Two Stepped Flower images over the branch.  I enjoy two step stamping using Photopolymer Stamps, it's so easy to line up the images so they stamp perfectly.  Then lastly I added some small corner cut outs punched with the Decorative Border Punch.

The sentiment is adhered straight to the card base and the outside frame is popped up using dimensionals, which is a little hard to see with the photo.  You could easily add a bit of Clear Wink of Stella, Pearls or Rhinestone's if you wanted to add some bling to this project.  I hope you enjoyed seeing this card as much as I enjoyed making it.

Stamp Set: Colourful Season, Happy Birthday Gorgeous

A Little Wild

Hi Stampers,
The card I'm sharing today is a cute and softly toned card.  I fell in love with the A Little Wild Stamp set images they were just so cute with the front and back of the animals.  You could easily use this card for a child or for a baby card, the colours are soft and muted.  I've added to that effect by sponging around the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper (DSP), Soft Sky & Whisper White layers by sponge daubing the edges with Soft Sky ink, it really softens up the look of the card.

I kept to the circular theme portrayed in the DSP by punching out the focal image with the Starburst Punch and then the sentiment with the 1 1/4" Circle Punch.  I used my colours based from what was in the DSP pack.  I made a very similar card to this for a very good friend recently for the birth of her son, I did use the alternate greeting from the stamp set " A great big welcome for a sweet little someone".

Painted Harvest

Hi All
Here's a quick and easy Z-Fold Card we made recently at Stamp Class.  Z Fold car sometimes look complicated but are pretty simple in reality.  Cut an A4 piece of hard in half so it's 10.5cm x 29.7cm then fold in half - just like a regular card.  Then fold one of the card sides in half again with the valley fold in the middle as shown in the picture below.  Then simply add your focal layer the top. My top tip here is to only put adhesive a bit less than half way on the focal card layer on the side that's being stuck to the small card front fold otherwise you'll adhere the card shut.

To help the leaves dazzle I used Clear Wink of Stella on them and punched out the leaves in colours that co-ordinate with the pattern paper.  Such a quick and easy way to make a colour combo.  I stamped a layer of ink of the leaf image stamped in Crushed Curry so it was a bit more subtle.  You can't see it but there is another Very Vanilla Panel inside the card with the same leaves stamped to tie it all together and allow some space to write a message.

Stamp Set: Painted Harvest
Inks: Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze
Card: Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla, Painted Autumn DSP
Punches: Leaf
Accessories: Stampin' Trimmer Score Blade, Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, Adhesive.

The Painted Harvest Stamp Set is available in a Bundle with the Leaf Punch at 10% Discount and is in the Holiday Catalogue on page 49.  If you like any of these products you can order them directly from me or at my online store.

Holiday Catalogue is Here!

Hi All
Woohoo the Holiday Catalogue is here!! It's jam packed full of seasonal goodies to refresh your stamping inspiration and get your creativity flowing.  Here's a fun card we made at card class this week using a new Bundle from the Catalogue the Swirly Sentiment Stamp Set and Swirly Snowflake Thinlits.  Don't you just love bundles not only does everything co-ordinate but you get it at 10% discount.

I must admit I am a susceptible for cursive font's and fell in love with the sentiments in the stamp set immediately.  The set also has some lovely snowflake images.  The Swirly Snowflake dies are intricate and beautiful - definitely a show stopper.

Every year I say to myself I won't buy the snowflake set in the Holiday Catalogue... and every year I do.  So from now on I'm going to embrace it, even though we don't have a White Christmas in Australia with snow.  I helped lift the card with some Basic Rhinestone Jewels and some of the Year of Cheer Specialty Washi Tape.

Stamps: Snowflake Sentiments
Ink: Fresh Fig
Card: Fresh Fig, Whisper White
Big Shot: Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits, Precision Base Plate, Die Brush

Swirly Thanks

Hi Stampers,
Here's the thank you card I gave to the ladies that ordered with me last month.  It uses a stamp set I've had for a while and haven't used as much as I should the Swirly Bird Stamp Set.  It's a set of simple images that can make some very impressive cards especially when you use it with the co-ordinating dies Swirly Scribbles.

The corners of the card were made with the new Everyday Label Punch which shows off the gorgeous Berry Burst card base.  For the Swirly Bird Flowers I stamped them in Berry Burst and also Powder Pink.  I stamped the flowers on diagonal corners so that I could leave a nice space of Whisper White.  I stamped the larger leaf in Pear Pizzaz and the smaller one in Old Olive.  Lastly I stamped the Thank You sentiment from Rose Wonder in Berry Burst and punched out using the Everyday Label Punch.  To add a bit of sparkle I added some Basic Pearl Jewels.

Stamp Set: Swirly Bird, Rose Wonder
Ink: Berry Burst, Powder Pink, Pear Pizzaz, Old Olive
Card: Berry Burst, Whisper White
Punches: Everyday Label
Accessories: Basic Pearl Jewels, Tear Tape Adhesive, Dimensionals

Clean & Simple Birthday

Hi All
Here's a quick clean and simple birthday card I designed for a private class recently.  Clean and simple cards are sometimes a challenge for me as I like to add layers.  This one came together very easily once I chose the designer series paper layer that gave me the colour co-ordination for the entire card.  That's the easiest way for me to create simple cards pick a designer series paper to give me my colours and then a stamp set that co-ordinates.

Then I selected my Birthday Sentiment, in this case I liked the fact that it was quite a large sentiment as it could then become my focal point.  A little co-ordinating card punched each end with the Triple Banner punch and then add some Rhinestones and hey presto.

Stamps: Window Shopping
Ink: Night of Navy
Card: Soft Sky, Emerald Envy, Night of Navy, Whisper White, Naturally Eclectic DSP
Punches: Triple Banner
Accessories: Rhinestone Basic Jewels

I hope you enjoyed this card and gained a little bit of inspiration.  My Online Store is where you can purchase any of these products if you liked them.  Otherwise contact me directly and I can help you with your order.
