Balloons & Birthdays

Hiya All
Here's a sweet card I designed recently using the Balloon Builders Stamp Set.  I'm really enjoying this stamp set, this time I used it as a bundle of balloons for a birthday card, in a combination of bright and subtle colours which would be good for a boy or girl.  I really like how the Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay and Smoky Slate play off the white card stock, it was a fun combination to use.

Stamp Sets: Balloon Builders, And Many More
Ink: Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Smoky Slate
Card: Bermuda Bay, Whisper White
Big Shot: Confetti Embossing Folder
Punches:Balloon Bouquet, Banner
Accessories: Stamp-a-ma-jig, Tear Tape Adhesive, Dimensionals

Let's Get Bohemian

Hey All,
Here's a nice little 3D project we made in class this month featuring the Bohemian Designer Series Paper.  I love the bold bright patterns of this set of DSP.  I found some sectional cardboard pen holders and we covered them using the DSP a belly band and pennant tag.  The Retiring List is out again and one of the colours I'm going to miss the most is Blackberry Bliss, it's such a nice rich and deep colour.  So I'll be sure to get a few more projects in before it and the other 2014-2016 In Colours Retire.  Check out the retiring list here please be aware products on the retiring list are available until 31st May or while stocks last, some products are already sold out.

Stamp Set: Perfect Penants
Inks: Blackberry Bliss
Card: Bohemian DSP, Whisper White, Delightful Dijon
Punches: Triple Banner
Accessories: Delightful Dijon Lace Trim Ribbon, Mini Glue Dots, Bohemian Washi Tape (over the top you can just see it), Tear Tape Adhesive

Hi All
In case you haven't noticed there is a decided trend towards projects featuring Balloons.  Stampin' Up! have a nice array of Balloon focused products in the Occasions Catalogue.  The fabulous bundle with Balloon Celebration Stamp Set & Balloon Bouquet Punch on page 12 and 13.  There is also the very sweet Balloon Builders Stamp Set on page 14 which shows an array of different balloon shapes - which can be made into sweet balloon animals.  For the project I'm sharing today I used the Balloon Builders Stamp Set to make a cute teddy bear card suitable for a new baby or a young boy.  I cannot take credit for the cute teddy bear the original creator is Ruth Norton check out her original card on her Blog - Ruthsstamping Corner.

Gone but not Forgotten

Hey Everybody,
Sorry it's been a while in between posts, I've been a bit sick but I'm back on my feet again now.  Keep an eye on the blog as there are more posts coming soon to make up for the last two weeks I missed.  Sale-a-Bration may be over and gone but the "What I Love" stamp set still has plenty of uses.  Check out this sweet tag I made recently and paired with the Polka Dot Cone Bags from the Occassions Catalogue... yes those are Easter Eggs you spy in the bag.  We originally made these in class for my ladies as Easter Gift Ideas.

Project Recipe:
Stamps: What I Love, Timeless Textures, And Many More
Ink:  Blackberry Bliss, Pink Pirhouette, Rose Red, Mint Macaron
Card: Whister White
Punches: Word Window, Bitty Butterfly, Ornate Tag Topper
Accessories: White Bakers Twine, Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, Polka Dot Cone Cellophane Bag, Tear Tape Adhesive, Dimensionals

# You might find it hard to spot the Timeless Textures we used the faded rectangular shape inked in Pink Pirhouette to soften the edges of the tag.

Happy Stamping

Ink Pacific Point, Tempting Turquoise, Pool Party, Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz
Card: Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz

Cute Curvy Keepsake

Hiya Everyone,
Here's a cute little box I made for a girlfriend a while ago to hold a gift for each of the guests at her wedding.  It was part of a whole suite of handmade goodies I made for her.  I                  co-ordinated all of the items by using the same colour card - Pacific Point and Shimmery White, the same focal stamp set Medallion (it's retired) and Silver 1/8" Ribbon.  As I'm a little bit of a perfectionist I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig so that the Medallion was centred on the bottom of the box and each of the points was centred, just in case anyone checked.

Project Recipe:
Stamps: Medallion (retired), Tiny Tags (retired)
Ink: Pacific Point
Card: Pacific Point, Shimmery White
Big Shot:Magnetic Platform, Curvy Keepsake Thinlits
Punches: Banner
Accessories: 1/8" Silver Ribbon, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Tear Tape Adhesive, Paper Snips

Happy stamping,

Bringing Back Birthdays

Hi Everyone

As you've no doubt noticed I've been birthday obsessed lately.  The lovely and talented Shannon West has created a new movement called #imbringingbirthdaysback.  To hear Shannon's Story in her own words check out theStampin' Up! Blog

As a result of the popularity of this movement Stampin' Up! has created a custom single stamp #imbringingbirthdaysback it has been released in the US already but will be released in other markets shortly, just a matter of shipping them to us I'm sure.  I can't wait to get my hands on one, to stamp the back of my birthday cards and maybe even some birthday cards.

So here's another one of the birthday cards I've designed recently,

Project Recipe:
Stamps: Grateful Bunch, Sky is the Limit
Ink Archival Basic Black, Mossy Meadow, Cajun Craze
Card: Mint Macaron, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Botanical Gardens DSP
Punches: Blossom Bunch
Accessories: Mint Macaron Marker, Basic Pearls, Tear Tape Adhesive, Dimensionals

Birthday Skies

Hey All
This card is one I designed for my Dad for his birthday earlier this year.  Like a lot of stampers I sometimes find designing a masculine card a little more challenging.  For Dad's card I used my new favourite Sale-a-Bration stamp set Sky is the Limit and the wonderful Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack.  I also used some retired Stampin' Up! products that I had in my craft room.

Project Recipe:
Stamps: Sky is the Limit
Ink:  Lost Lagoon, Basic Black Archival Ink
Card: Lost Lagoon, Whisper White, Basic Black, Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack
Big Shot etc: Cloudy Day Embossing Folder (retired)
Punches: 21/2" Circle Punch
Accessories: Basic Grey Striped Satin Ribbon, Sponge Daubers, Paper Snips, Tear Tape Adhesive, Dimensionals

Happy stamping and inky fingers

Give a Little Thanks

Hey Stampers
This weeks card is a Thank You card that I made for a friend of mine, it's part of a suite of goodies that I made for her that all co-ordinate together.  I'll be sharing the other projects shortly.  I always love making thank you cards, I find it a nice touch to give a handmade thank you card to help express my gratitude for a kind act or some help rendered.  For my friend I chose to take out the retired Stampin' Up! Medallion Stamp and Curly Cute Stamp Set both of which I thoroughly love.  They are such versatile stamps and I have used them both many times.

Project Recipe:
Stamps: Medallion, Curly Cute
Ink: Pacific Point
Card: Pacific Point, Shimmery White
Punches: Banner
Accessories: 1/8" Silver Ribbon, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Tear Tape Adhesive, Dimensionals

Birthday Celebration

Hey Stampers
I'm back with another Birthday Card.  Shannon West from Stampin' Up! has started a new trend #imbringingbackbirthdays to start and send out birthday cards to people rather than the easier way of sending a quick message on social media.  This is a wonderful initiative by Shannon and my goal this year is to post out Birthday Cards so people get a special surprise in the mail.  So I'll be featuring Birthday cards a lot as the year goes on.  Here's a birthday card I posted out to one of my ladies for her Birthday this month!

Stamp Set: Grateful Bunch, Happy Birthday, Everyone (Hostess), Papillon Potpourri
Ink: Blushing Bride, Elegant Eggplant
Card: Blushing Bride, Very Vanilla
Punches: Elegant Butterfly, Bitty Butterfly, Trio Corner Punch
Accessories: Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush, Tear Tape Adhesive, Mini Glue Dots

Botannical Birthday

Hey Stampers
Birthday cards are one of the cards I feature most in my classes.  Everyone who comes to class can make use of an extra Birthday card in our stash.  I try to make a mixture throughout the year, masculine, feminine, kids, fun, bright, floral... you name it we've probably covered something pretty close.  For this card I decided to make use of the Botannical Blooms Bundle from the Occasions Catalogue, the papers, stamp and framelits all co-ordinate and are such fun colours and shapes.

Stamps: Botannical Blooms, Petite Pairs
Ink: Cajun Craze, Archival Basic Black, Pear Pizzaz, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow
Card: Hello Honey, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Botannical Gardens DSP
Big Shot: Magnetic Platform, Botannical Builder Framelits
Punches: Ornamental Tag Topper
Accessories: Sponge Dauber, Gold Metallic Bakers Twine, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tear Tape Adhesive

Love is in the Air

Hey Stampers
As you know Valentines Day is coming up shortly so I thought I'd make a "love" inspired card using the new stamp set Balloon Builders from the Occasions Catalogue.  I received this stamp set free for attending the Stampin' Up! OnStage Local Event in Perth in November.  This is one of the lovely perks of attending Stampin' Up! events.

I always find Valentine's a little bit unusual not having a partner.  So I usually end up making cards to share the love as they say with friends and let them know they are special to me.  I also challenged the ladies that receive my newsletter to make a "love" themed card, romantic, friendly whatever form of love you express in papercrafts.  So here is my version...

For inspiration for the card layout I used the  Mojo Monday #432 sketch.  I really love using the sketches from Mojo Monday.  The card details are below:

Stamps: Balloon Builders
Card: Blushing Bride, Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla
Ink: Blushing Bride, Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip
Punches: Triple Banner Punch
Accessories: Adhesive Tape, Dimensionals

Wishing you inky fingers and happy stamping

Sky is the Limit

I really like the "Sky is the Limit" Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set, as soon as I saw it in the catty I knew I had to have it.  I like the font for the greetings and the airplane image is so versatile.  I have seen lots of beautiful cards made with this set and am seeing lots of brown and blue colour combinations.  I decided I wanted to try something a little different.  So I used a combination of Elegant Eggplant, Smoky Slate and Basic Grey balanced with some Whisper White.

Stamps: Sky is the Limit (SAB), Timeless Textures
Inks: Smoky Slate, Basic Grey, Elegant Eggplant
Card Whisper White, Smoky Slate, Elegant Eggplant
Big Shot: Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder
Accessories: White Jut Ribbon 1 1/4", Sponge Daubers, Paper Snips, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Adhesive, Dimensionals
Cheers & Happy Stamping

Back into Blogging

Hi All, sorry for the long hiatus lets just say that life - and a cute little dog got in the way of blogging the last few years.  The plan is to get back into the swing of blogging and sharing some of my creations and providing a little bit of inspiration.

This card is one we recently made at our monthly Stamp Club.  It is my nod to Valentines Day this year, and more along the lines of "sharing the love" with anyone who matters rather than specifically romantic love.

Stamps: Going Global, Enjoy the Little Things
Inks: Sahara Sand, Archival Basic Black
Card: Sahara Sand, Whisper White, Basic Black, Going Places Designer Paper Stack
Punches: Washi Tape, 2" Circle, 1" Circle
Big Shot: World Traveler Embossing Folder

Cheers and Happy Stamping
